Ryan Higgins is the Republican Committeeman for Schaumburg Township, the Vice Chairman of the Cook County Republican Party, and the Illinois Republican State Central Committeeman for the 8th Congressional District. A lifelong resident of the northwest suburbs and an eight-year resident of Schaumburg Township, Higgins was also the 2010 Republican nominee for Illinois State Representative for the 56th District.
Higgins is an associate of the law firm McDermott Will & Emery LLP, where he focuses his legal practice on corporate, transactional, and regulatory matters for healthcare organizations. He also serves on the pro bono board of his law firm and devotes significant time to pro bono matters, including defending the educational rights of special needs children and advising not-for-profit organizations in the Chicago area.
Higgins earned his J.D. from the Duke University School of Law, where he was elected Editor-in-Chief of a law review, President of the Duke Health Law Society, Chairman of the Duke Law Republicans, and Vice President of the Federalist Society.
Higgins received his B.A. in Government, with a concentration in International Relations, from Dartmouth College. During his college years, Higgins also served as an aide to former U.S. Senator Peter Fitzgerald (R-IL) in Washington. He is a graduate of William Fremd High School and St. Theresa Catholic School in Palatine.
